Ragnarok is a perl module designed to enhance web security. Usernames are usually stored unencrypted; this is a major flaw in web security. If a username-password combination are released as a part of an infiltration from Website X, if one of the usernames appears on Website Y, then there is a very good chance that the password from website X will also work on Website Y...because most users don't change their passwords depending on the website. The Video Explanations have more in-depth demos of this problem and solution.

As of now, Ragnarok is a perl module and it we don't have a way of applying this to PHP - we've tried, it's just too slow. We're working on a different approach.
